Samsung likely to launch Galaxy S10 with one flat screen variant

SEOUL – South Korean tech giant Samsung is expected to unveil the flagship Galaxy S10 series smartphones at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2019.

According to prolific leakster Ice Universe, the South Korean tech giant is expected to launch the Galaxy S10’s smaller version SM-G970 5.8-inch with the flat display.

The curved edge display will only be available in top-of-the-line Galaxy S10s SM-G973 5.8-inch and SM-G975 6.44-inch.

While the top end model could have 5G connectivity, a triple lens camera, and ultrasonic under-screen fingerprint reader, the flat screen model may not. Instead, it should come with an inferior optical under-screen fingerprint reader.

Previous reports also indicate that the South Korean tech giant is going to launch four variants of Galaxy S10 smartphones.

One out of the four handsets will support 5G as entries for four models – ‘beyond 0’, ‘beyond 1’, ‘beyond 2’, and ‘beyond 2 5G’ were discovered in Android Pie firmware files.

Samsung’s CEO also told Chinese media that the flagship smartphone will come with “very significant” changes but, the executive did not provide any detail on the kind of changes.

On a separate design note, the top official revealed that there will be very “amazing” colours on offer when it comes to the Galaxy S10.
