Shehbaz Sharif s transit remand extended till Nov 10

ISLAMABAD – An accountability court in the capital on Tuesday again extended the transit remand of Shehbaz Sharif, Leader of the Opposition in National Assembly, till November 10 to attend a session of a Parliament House.

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB), which had arrested the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) president in Ashiana housing scam case last month, produced the accused before the court of Judge Mohammad Bashir.

The anti-graft buster asked the court to extend the transit remand of the former Punjab chief minister till November 12, to which, the judge remarked why they sought extension till 12 as the session is going to end on Nov 9.

Later, the court rejected NAB’s plea and granted extension till Nov 10, directing it to produce the accused before the court in Lahore on Nov 10.

During the hearing, Shehbaz Sharif told the court that investigators had been probed him during the remand, adding that he has yet not been informed where the corruption was made.

Sharif was arrested on October 5 after appearing before the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in Saaf Paani Company scheme. NAB said Shehbaz failed to satisfy the investigation team regarding a tender awarded to a private consultancy firm and was therefore arrested.
