KARACHI – Prominent scholar Allama Mirza Yousaf has bee sent to jail on 14 days remand here on Monday.

According to reports, Allama Yousaf has been alleged of delivering a provocative speech during a funeral congregation.

Law enforcement agencies apprehended Allama Mirza Yousuf Hussain besides nearly 40 suspects in overnight raids in Karachi on Saturday. Yousuf Hussain, who is a prominent leader the Khateeb (Speaker) of Masjid Noor-e-Iman, was taken into custody by Police and Rangers during a pre-dawn joint action in Nazimabad.

Meanwhile, skirmish between individuals Protesting against the recent raids and arrests by law enforcement agencies and police is still underway in Malir area of Karachi.
