Rawalpindi (Web Desk) – Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif has assured his full support to revive Pakistan’s image as a sporting nation especially in the field of hockey.
According to ISPR, the Army Chief gave these remarks while watching the final of first Chief of Army Staff Hockey Cup in Rawalpindi today.
The Army Chief said lost glory in sports, especially in hockey will be brought back. National Bank has won first Chief of the Army Staff Hockey Cup by defeating Pakistan International Airlines 2-0.
The Army Chief handed over the trophy, medals and cash prizes to the winning teams of the tournament.
A cash prize of one million rupees was given to the winning National Bank team, while seven hundred thousand rupees cash prize was given to the runners up PIA team, and half million rupees to the third position holder Pakistan Army hockey team.
