LONDON – Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President and former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif would likely be travelling from London to Pakistan today (Wednesday).
Sharif who headed to the British capital after appearing before the accountability court in Islamabad is expected to board a flight of Pakistan International Airlines PK-786.
According to the schedule available on Heathrow Airport’s website, PK-786 would land in Islamabad on Thursday morning.
Nawaz Sharif would be appearing before the accountability court on Friday, hearing corruption cases against him and his family filed by the National Accountability Bureau.
At the last hearing on October 26, the court had issued bailable warrants against Nawaz for skipping the hearing while adjourning the proceedings until November 3.
The elder Sharif has been London along with other family members to spend time with his lymphoma suffering wife Kulsoom, who is undergoing treatment in British capital.
After a consultative meeting of party on Monday, the former premier decried the court proceedings against him remarking that he was not given a chance to fair trial in the Panama Papers case.
Not only is Nawaz Sharif facing corruption charges, but his sons Hassan and Hussain have also been declared proclaimed offenders by the accountability court judge Muhammad Bashir.
The court on Tuesday directed the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan to freeze the shares of both brothers in 10 companies.
