Thunderstorms and heavy rainfall expected in Karachi on September 3-4

KARACHI – The Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecasted thunderstorms and heavy rain with gusty winds in Karachi between September 3 and 4. This weather event will be influenced by the monsoon winds from the Bay of Bengal.

According to the meteorological department, moist winds from the Bay of Bengal are expected to reach the northern regions of the country on September 2. By evening or night, these winds will move towards the western parts of the country, including Karachi, bringing thunderstorms and rain.

Residents of rural Sindh, including districts such as Sukkur, Larkana, Khairpur, Dadu, Hyderabad, Thatta, Badin, Mithi, Mirpurkhas, Jacobabad, Tando Allahyar, Tando Muhammad Khan, Tharparkar, and Umerkot, should also prepare for similar weather conditions.

The Early Warning Center of the meteorological department anticipates that Karachi will experience partly to fully cloudy skies on Monday, with a chance of drizzle or light rain in the evening or night. The maximum temperature in Karachi is expected to range between 30°C and 32°C on Monday. Tuesday will bring partly cloudy to clear and humid conditions.

On Sunday, Karachi recorded a maximum temperature of 32.6°C and a humidity level of 76%. The city’s residents are advised to stay updated on weather warnings and prepare for the expected weather changes.
