Newly inducted Zulfiqar Khosa takes on PTI spox Fawad over snubbing son

LAHORE – Sardar Zulfiqar Khosa, a disgruntled leader of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz who recently joined the PTI, on Saturday faced off with party spokesperson Fawad Chaudhry over his remarks about former’s son, Dost Muhammad Khosa.

On Friday, PTI Chairman Imran Khan, other leaders including Jahangir Khan Tareen visited the residence of former Punjab governor in Lahore where he announced to join the party. It was also being reported that Dost Khosa has also joined the PTI.

However, PTI Spokesperson Fawad Chaudhry denied Dost Khosa’s inclusion in the first place after backlash on social media. He said that the party has not allowed Dost Khosa, former MPA and Punjab chief minister, in the party due to some allegations against him.

In 2012, Dost Khosa had resigned from the position after the Lahore High Court had charged him in the case related to the kidnapping and killing of actress Sapna Khan.

Actress Sapna was the former wife of Dost Khosa and daughter of Missal Khan who had accused the former Punjab chief minister of kidnapping and killing Sapna while Khosa levelled the same allegation at his former wife’s family.

Taking notice of Chaudhry’s remarks, Zulfiqar Khosa clarified that he along with his son joined the PTI, adding, “Fawad Chaudhry is nothing for me”.

He went on to say, “I have joined the PTI not the Fawad,” adding that Imran Khan and Shah Mehmood Qureshi had not raised any objection.

Chaudhry, in response to the criticism, said that deciding policy is a matter liable to the party, not the Zulfiqar Khosa.
