NEW DELHI – A court in India has ordered police to register an FIR against Bollywood actor Mithun Chakraborty’s son Mahaakshay Chakraborty aka Mimoh and wife Yogeeta Bali following allegations of rape and criminal intimidation by a woman, also an actor.
The complainant claims to have come in contact with mother-son duo in April, 2015. She alleged that in May, 2015, she was drugged and raped and the relationship continued as Mimoh promised to marry her. She continued that when she got pregnant, Mimoh gave her a medicine that led to an abortion, according to NDTV.
Gouranga Chakraborty, better known by his stage name Mithun Chakraborty (informally referred to as Mithun Da), is an Indian film actor, singer, producer, writer, social worker, entrepreneur and former politician. He has four children: three sons and a daughter.
In her complaint, the woman also stated that Yogita threatened her of dire consequences if she continued her relationship with Mimoh. The woman also told the court that she moved to Delhi from Mumbai because she was afraid that the threats made by Yogita and her son could take her life.
In December 2017, the woman claimed to have reminded Mimoh of his promise of marriage and he assured her of talking her to his parents to convince them, but later refused on the basis of unmatched horoscopes.

Police said that there was sufficient evidence to register an FIR against the two so that the court can go ahead with the law proceedings.
The accusations come in the wake of the #MeToo campaign through which many women have come forward to share their horrific sexual harassment incidents blaming big guns from the entertainment industry.
Earlier, Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein was accused of behaving inappropriately with numerous women and is currently facing a trial.
