Funeral prayer in absentia held for Allama Iqbal’s son in Srinagar

SRINAGAR (Web Desk) – Chairman Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Mohammd Yasin Malik participated in funeral prayers in absentia held for son of Allama Iqbal who passes away in Lahore on Saturday, Greater Kashmir reported.

Expressing grief and sorrow over the demise of Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal, Malik said that Javed was an intellectual and a great friend of Kashmiri people.

“He supported the just cause of Kashmir freedom movement,” Malik said after holding prayers at Madina Chowk in Srinagar.

Malik said he had met the deceased many times and described him a well wisher of Kashmiri people and their cause.

Malik also prayed for the departed soul and expressed sympathy with the bereaved family.

Meanwhile, Freedom Party Chairman Shabir Ahmad Shah also expressed grief and sorrow over the demise of Justice (retd.) Javed Iqbal.

In his condolence message, Shah, who is under house arrest, termed him a great legal expert and a human-friendly person.
