MUMBAI – Topping the Forbes India Celebrity 100 List seems to have become a habit for Salman Khan. On the back of 253.25 Indian rupee crores earned through the release of his films, television appearances and brand endorsements 2018.
It was inevitable that actor Shah Rukh Khan, who did not have a single release during the period under review, would lose the second spot that he held last year with earnings of 170.5 INR crores.
The 52-year-old actor became India’s highest-paid celebrity on the list for the third consecutive year. What is heartening, though, is that a sportsperson is challenging an actor’s domination at the top for the first time. At No 2 is cricketer Virat Kohli, Bollywood hunk Akshay Kumar climbs up a spot to No three.

On the other hand, Newlywed Bollywood diva Deepika Padukone is also the highest-earning female celebrity in the list. She also became the first female celebrity to find a place in the top five positions ever since the listing was launched in 2012.

Meanwhile, Deepika and Ranveer, who got married at Lake Como in Italy on November 14-15, recently held a series of reception parties for their friends, families first in Bengaluru and later in Mumbai. Both reception parties saw popular actors and sports stars in attendance and pictures of the couple with their guests have since gone viral.
One the work front, Deepika is set to play an acid attack survivor in her next film. Being directed by Meghna Gulzar, the untitled film will be a biopic about acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal.
Bollywood hunk and Deepika’s husband Ranveer Singh is busy with the promotions of his upcoming film Simba, which also stars Sara Ali Khan and has been directed by Rohit Shetty.
