MENLO PARK — Facebook-owned social messaging service, WhatsApp has added a new security feature in its iOS application.
WhatsApp in its new update for iPhone has added a Screen Lock feature that uses the iOS Face ID or Touch ID to unlock the application.
To enable the feature, go to Settings > Account > Privacy and enable Screen Lock. Depending on the smartphone, users can either use the old Touch ID or the newer Face ID method.
The new security feature locks the entire app behind the authentication system, so only people authorized to unlock the phone can now unlock the app.
The update is now available to download on the App Store.
