Atif Aslam, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan to sing for this Bollywood movie despite Indian ban

MUMBAI – Pakistani and Indian artists have been exchanging ideas and working together across the borders. But, for the past one year, the Indian government has imposed a ban on Pakistani artists with stars like Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan receiving threat calls from Indian extremists.

However, despite all the restrictions and tension on the Indo-Pak border, renowned Pakistani singers Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Atif Aslam are going to record a song for Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra starrer Namaste England.

Both the Pakistani singers will be entertaining the audiences with their melodious voices for  Vipul Shah’s directed  Namaste England.

The first choice of the film’s music composer, Mannan Shaah, was to have these both talented singers for playback music and he expressed his happiness saying, “Atif was always my first choice for Tere Liye. I adore his voice and he’s sung a quintessential romantic song. Javed Sahab has written a wonderful song and it’s one of his personal favourites too”.

Furthermore, speaking on the song sung by Rahat, Mannan remarked, “It’s sheer pleasure to have recorded Tu Meri Main Tera with Rahat Sahab, I’ve always been a big fan of his voice.”

The video of the upcoming song has already been shot in London.

Namaste England is a second part of the Akshay Kumar-Katrina Kaif starrer Namaste London. Rahat had also recorded Namaste London’s iconic song Main Jahaan Rahoon which continues to be one of Bollywood’s most memorable song full of emotions.
