FC foils terror bids for Pakistan Day, 3 arrested

QUETTA (Web DesK) – Frontier Corps (FC) on Friday claimed to arrest three culprits and recovered huge cache of ammunition that was being used for a planned terror bid on March 23 in Balochistan.

FC commander while media briefing said that forces conducted an operation in New Kahan, Hazar Ganji and Killa Abdullah and recovered forty-eight 120mm mortar shells, nine 82mm mortar grenades and 3 kilograms of explosive material whereas huge cache of weapons and explosives were recovered from the secret spaces of the car in Killa Abdullah that include two SMGs, 9 magazines with 340 rounds, 7 rocket-propelled grenades (RPGs) with rounds and 42 sniper rounds. Three suspects were also arrested.

Provincial Interior Minister Sarfraz Bugti told that the terrorists associated with outlawed organization had planned a major terror attack in Quetta and adjoining areas on March 23.

Director General (DG) FC Brigadier Tahir Mehmood said that terrorists, after operation Zarb-e-Azb, were setting foot in various areas of Balochistan and FC were carrying out operation against them.
