ISLAMABAD – The federal government on Monday extended the stay of Pakistan Army in the federal capital for further three months.
Interior Ministry issued a notification stating that deployment of 350 troops in Islamabad has been extended to aid civil administration in enforcement of the law.
Earlier, the ministry had extended the stay of the army in December until March 3, 2017.
The Army were first deployed in the federal capital ahead of 2014 sit-ins of political parties, under article 245 of the Constitution of Pakistan.
