ISLAMABAD – Pakistani authorities on Monday decided to reopen Pak-Afghan border crossing for two days in order to facilitate the stranded citizen of both countries.
Foreign Office Spokesperson Nafees Zakaria said that border crossings at Torkham and Chaman will be opened on Tuesday and the day after for those nationals of Afghanistan who had come to Pakistan on valid visas, and want to return to their country, Radio Pakistan reported.
The spokesperson said that the Afghan Ambassador has been informed about the decision by Adviser to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz.
Pakistan had closed Pak-Afghan border at Torkham with immediate effect till further orders after terrorist attacks, especially after a suicide attack on the shrine of saint Lal Shahbaz Qalandar last month.
