ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Imran Khan unveiled a new plan of the municipal system on Monday and the measures which will be taken subsequent to a legislation of the new local bodies system.
In an interaction with senior journalists in Islamabad, the premier announced that panchayat in Punjab, as well as mayors in metropolises, will be elected directly.

“In Punjab, 22,000 Panchayats will receive Rs40 billion worth of funds,” he stated.

The premier stated that our cities turned to ruins owing to lack of facilities, adding that the new system would be revolutionary.
The premier expressed that after the 18th amendment, the provinces were not able to collect taxes leaving the federation cash-strapped.
The premier expressed ignorance about rumours regarding the presidential system.
Good governance is the top priority of the government, he added.
