Muzaffargarh man arrested for disrespecting Namaz with dance moves

LAHORE – Punjab police on Saturday apprehended a man from Muzaffargarh after a clip of him being disrespectful toward Salah went viral on social media.

Reports in local media said the cops of Shah Jamal police station nabbed the culprit, identified as named Asif Muhammad Hanif, who ridiculed the Islamic religious ritual during an event.

In the viral clip of the disgraceful event, Hanif can be seen doing Salah rituals while he also danced as the people were beating drums and playing other traditional instruments. A case has been lodged at Shah Jamal Police station under 295A of the Pakistan Penal Code.

As the video surfaced, a public outcry started following the trend on Twitter. Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Bazdar also took stern notice of the viral clip and ordered the cops to arrest the man who mocked the prayers.

Police in the most populous province said they were asked to trace the man in all districts and requested people to provide details about him.

Officials said the young man hurt the sentiments of millions of Muslims and strict action should be taken against him.
