ISLAMABAD – The Interior Ministry has announced two public holidays on Ashura – 9th and 10th Muharram – which falls on Oct 11 and 12.
A notification has also been issued by the ministry on its website.
According to the circular, all public and semi-government institutions will remain closed on these two days.
Ashura marks the martyrdom of Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS), the grandson of Holy Prophet, at the battle of Karbala.
