RAWALPINDI (Web Desk) – A civil court sent US national Matthew Craig Barrett blacklisted under Foreigners Act on three-day physical remand on Tuesday.
During the course of proceedings, the FIA investigation officer told the tribunal that the accused’s name was included in the blacklist and an investigation team was probing his re-entry into the nation.
He said Mathew’s criminal record and FIR filed against him was on the record. He was likewise caught in the United States and put behind bars.
The accused apprised the court that he had come back to explore the possibility of permanently settling in Pakistan. In that location were no complaints against him as he held a valid visa issued by the Pakistani Consulate in Houston, he took.
The investigation officer sought custody of the suspect for interrogation and Judge Civil Court Naveed Iqbal Tarrar handed him over to the FIA on three-day physical remand.
Barrett was arrested in 2011 while calling for photographs of sensitive installations in Jhang Bhattar area near Islamabad. Maps of sensitive installations were also retrieved from his ownership.
