LONDON (Staff Report) – England have announced a 13-member squad for the last Test of the four-match series against Pakistan, maintaining the same players who took a 141 run win over the visiting team on Sunday.
“The same squad: Alastair Cook, Alex Hales, Joe Root, James Vince, Garry Ballance, Jonny Bairstow, Moeen Ali, Chris Woakes, Stuart Broad ,Steven Finn, James Anderson, Jake Ball and Adil Rashid will play in the Oval Test against Pakistan,” a statement said.
Batsman James Vince suffered from an injury to the ring finger of his left hand during fielding on the fifth day of the third Test, however, the selectors have still kept his name on the list.
According to media reports, Vince was also taken to the hospital for a scan on Sunday, which revealed that he had not suffered a dislocation. However, his inclusion in the final playing XI remains suspicious.
On the other hand, the probability of Adil Rashid’s inclusion into the playing XI is very high after he missed the first three games against Pakistan.
Pakistan and England are set to play the final Test of the four-match series from Thursday (August 11) at the Oval. The hosts maintain a 2-1 lead in the series.
