PM Imran to launch ‘Plant for Pakistan’ Drive in Nankana today

LAHORE – Prime Minister Imran Khan is launching Ten Billion Tree Plantation Drive in Nankana on Saturday, Radio Pakistan reported.

He will plant a sapling at Forest Reserve in Balloki to mark the ‘Plant for Pakistan Day’ drive.

According to media reports, Prime Minister Imran Khan will reach Lahore Airport afternoon, where Punjab Governor Chaudhry Sarwar will receive the premier.

The prime minister will be briefed about development on the Kartarpur Corridor project afterwards.

Deputy Commissioner Nankana Raja Mansoor Ahmed said that ten thousand saplings would be planted by two thousand five hundred school children along with the premier to launch the tree plantation campaign.

He said the district administration has retrieved twenty-five hundred acres of government land from illegal occupants.

He said a forest reserve would be developed on fifteen hundred acres of land while a Wildlife Sanctuary would be built on the remaining one thousand acres of retrieved land.
