Amitabh Bachchan refuses to play a Pakistani in upcoming Indian movie

LAHORE- The crumbling ties between India and Pakistan ever since the Pulwama attack, which resulted in the deaths of over 40 paramilitary personnel, seems to have prompted Bollywood’s finest actor Amitabh Bachchan to turn down a role in an upcoming Indian movie, reported Bollywood Hungama.

According to a report, Pookutty has been discussing the project with the megastar for two years now and was excited to play the character initially.

A source told the online portal, “Resul had been discussing the script for his directorial debut with Bachchan Saab for two years now. He loved the peace message in Resul’s Indo-Pak story. Resul waited for Bachchan Saab’s dates and they were finally supposed to go on the floors, but because of the worsening relations between the two countries, Bachchan Saab had second thoughts.” The report added that the veteran actor wouldn’t want to be labelled as ‘anti-national’ and be ensnared in a controversy which is rather unfortunate.

Big B was last seen in Badla, a thriller directed by Sujoy Ghosh with Taapsee Pannu in the lead. The actor will be next seen in the multi-starrer Brahmastra which is being helmed by Ayan Mukerji and produced by Karan Johar.
