MIRPUR – The two-day Urs celebrations of the eminent spiritual leader, saint and preacher of Islam in the subcontinent, Baba Peer-a-Shah Ghazi will commence at his mausoleum at Khari Sharif in Mirpur, AJK from April 19, it was officially declared here late Sunday
AJK Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan will inaugurate the urs celebrations while AJK Sports and Culture Minister Ch. Muhammad Saeed will chair the ceremony.
“Security has been beefed up with the deployment of additional police force at Khari Sharif to maintain peace and order during the Urs celebrations”, Divisional Director Auqaf Department, Custodian of the Shrine, Maqsood Hussain Abbasi told media here on Thursday.
The opening ceremony of the two-day Urs celebrations will be marked with the ablution of the mausoleum beside laying of the floral wreath at the shrine by the pilgrims.
Leading scholars and Ulema will deliver special speeches at the opening ceremony to pay rich tribute to the spiritual leader, he said.
Abbasi said that pilgrims including the admirers of the saint and the preacher of Islam from all over the country including Azad Kashmir will attend the Urs celebrations like all previous years to offer fateha and pay glorious tributes to Baba Peer-a-Shah Ghazi for the grand job he performed to spread the teachings of Islam and bringing thousands of people in this region in the fold of Islam by his services.
At the inaugural ceremony, speakers including eminent Ulema, Naat Khawan and other religious scholars will pay glorious tributes to Hazrat Baba Peer-a-Shah Ghazi for his great services, along with his associate Auliya Karam for the preaching and publications of the teachings of Islam in the subcontinent and particularly in this area.
Meanwhile, thousands of devotees and admirers of the renowned saint from across the country including Azad Jammu and Kashmir have started reaching the mausoleum.
On this occasion, prominent scholars, naat khawan and poets will present the mystic poetry of great Saint and Arif – e – Khari Sharif Hazrat Mian Muhammad Buksh (RA).
