Four policemen killed in DI Khan shootout

DERA ISAMAIL KHAN – At least four policemen were killed and three others sustained injuries in a firing incident in Proa tehsil of northern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Tuesday, the Radio Pakistan reported.

The incident happened when unidentified gunmen opened fire on a police van, patrolling in Mahra area of Dera Ismail Khan, resulting in the casualties in the exchange of fire.

The deceased policemen have been identified as Constables Sarfaraz, Mirbaz and Asif, and driver Javed.

A station house officer (SHO) and two passers-by sustained injuries in the firing incident have been shifted to District Headquarter hospital of Dera Ismail Khan.
