Steps being taken for upgradation of Railways infrastructure

LAHORE (APP) – The Pakistan Railways has taken a number of steps for up-gradation of Railways infrastructure which will contribute in making the organization profitable.

Under China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), Pakistan Railways is up-grading mainline-I from Karachi to Peshawar including Taxila-Havelian section and construction of new dry port at Havelian.

Pakistan Railways is rehabilitating the existing track from Karachi to Lodhran through Public Sector Development Programme.

The steps also include doubling of track upto Lahore which is likely to be completed by the end of this year. It will speed up movement of trains.
