PESHAWAR – Tensions continue unabated among rival tribes in the Kurram district, resulting in the killing of 11 individuals while scores of people were injured.
The incident occurred in Kunj Ali Zai, where tensions escalated into gun battle. Deputy Commissioner DC Javedullah Mehsud confirmed that 11 people lost their lives, with six others suffering injuries.
Those injured have been promptly transported to local hospitals for treatment. After the unwanted incident, law enforcement and security personnel rushed to the area to maintain order and conduct investigations into the shooting incidents.
Kurram DC Mehsud said stern measures are being taken to secure roads and restore normalcy across the district. Former MNA and Jirga member Pir Haider Ali Shah announced that Jirga members are already present to mediate and work towards a peace agreement between the conflicting tribes.
This incident adds to the troubling history of tribal clashes in Kurram, where such violence has previously resulted in numerous casualties. Authorities are urging community leaders to engage in dialogue to prevent further escalation.
