Electricity Supply To Pakistan Hockey Federation Cut Off For Not Paying Bill

LAHORE – The electricity supply to the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has been disconnected due to non-payment of an electricity bill of Rs6.9 million.

Reports said the Lahore Electric Supply Company (Lesco) took action against PHF after it failed to pay the outstanding dues despite repeated notices.

The Punjab Hockey Association’s office also has an outstanding electricity bill of Rs500,000 and LESCO is also likely to cut off it power supply.

Staff members at the offices have also informed PHF officials about the power cut.

PHF has been facing financial crunches since long as the game is not given due attention by the government despite the fact that it is the national game of the South Asian country.

PHC officials said that efforts are being made to arrange the funds so the power supply could be restored.

In recently concluded Asian Hockey Champions Trophy, Pakistan secured third place in the Asian Hockey Champions Trophy by defeating South Korea and won the bronze medal.
