Karachi — Rights defender and Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) leader Dr. Mahrang Baloch has been formally charged in a case involving serious terrorism-related offenses.
Case filed against the dissenting woman accused her of inciting youth in Balochistan and facilitating terror outfits.
The charges suggest that Dr. Baloch was involved in supporting terrorist activities by organizing processions and rallies under false pretenses. It also sparked significant controversy, raising concerns about the implications for political activism in the region.
As the investigation continues, BYC members and other activists are closely watching how the legal proceedings will unfold.
Earlier this week, Dr Baloch was stopped at Karachi Airpott from travelling to New York to attend a Time magazine gala. She then took to social media and lamented the stern move. Baloch name was put on no-fly list, or Exit Control List.
Meanwhile, Washington is monitoring the situation and raised its concerns with the Pakistani officials, TIMES reported.
