Mahrang Baloch Denied Travel From Pakistan To Attend Time Magazines Gala

KARACHI — Baloch Yakjehti Comittee leader and activist Mahrang Baloch was stopped from traveling to New York as her name was on the no-fly list.

Baloch was reportedly leaving for New York to attend a gala hosted by Time Magazine, where she was invited as one of the “Most Influential Emerging Leaders of the Year.” Taking it social media, Baloch lamented FIA action, saying it reflects the state’s growing insecurity regarding Balochis.

The activist raised questions about travel ban, asserting that it aimed to silence advocates for Baloch rights and control the narrative around ongoing human rights abuses in Balochistan.

She was named among Time Magazine’s “100 Most Influential People of 2024,” and is recognized for her leadership in a community where many men have gone missing or are deceased.

Mahrang rallied hundreds of Baloch women to demand justice for their missing loved ones last year in federal capital.
