HARIPUR (Online) – A local leader and district council member of the ruling party, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, was shot dead in the premises of a local court on Saturday.
Javed Khan was present in the court when an armed assailant opened fire on him and fatally injured him. He breathed his last while being taken to a hospital.
The police apprehend the attacker after chasing him, and also recovered a weapon from his possession.
The murder seems to be the result of an old enmity, the police said, adding that they were investigating the incident.
During a press conference in Abbottabad last week, Khan had told the media about the threats to his life.
