Tesla Unveils Robotaxi Cybercab To Transform Urban Mobility Without Drivers

BURBANK – Tesla co-founder Elon Musk finally unveiled the unconventional vehicles robotaxi, the Cybercab, and Robovan which come without steering wheel or accelerating pedal, in what is said to be a vision to transform urban mobility.

The driverless vehicle was rolled out at a Warner Bros. Studios in California, and it has everyone talking. This self-driving vehicle is said to be available $30,000, allowing owners to create fleets that could rival existing companies in market.

The company’s self-driving technology would significantly enhance safety compared to human drivers, Elon Musk said, but numbers said otherwise as Tesla’s stock moved down nearly 8pc following the announcement, signaling some investor skepticism about the feasibility and timeline of these ambitious plans.

Musk’s history of making bold predictions regarding self-driving features may have contributed to this cautious outlook. The company has not applied for the essential regulatory permits to operate the Cybercab, as any company seeking to launch fully autonomous vehicles must first secure exemptions from Traffic Safety Administration.

The tech pioneer and billionaire however remains hopeful that regulators will endorse the Cybercab if it can prove to be safer than traditional driving.

With competition in the autonomous driving sector intensifying, Tesla’s Cybercab aims to set a new standard for urban transportation, potentially reshaping the future of mobility.
