MPAs-elect take oath in KP Assembly s inaugural session

PESHAWAR – The inaugural session of the newly elected Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly is being held today where MPA-elects took oath of their offices.

Sardar Aurangzeb administered the oath to the elected members as former Speaker Asad Qaiser took oath as a member of the National Assembly today and could not perform the duty.

After swearing in, the members marked their attendance in the register following which the session will be adjourned.

The elections for Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the provincial assembly would be held on Wednesday.

The Sindh and Balochistan assemblies will also meet today, where their respective elected members will be sworn in.

Party Strength

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has emerged as the largest party in terms of numbers as it has 84 seats in the house and is in a comfortable position to form the government.

Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal is the second largest party with a strength of 13 lawmakers.
