Four TTP, Lashkar-e-Jhangvi terrorists killed in Karachi

KARACHI – Karachi police on Saturday killed four terrorists of banned outfits during a raid in Shah Latif Town of Karachi.

SSP Malir Rao Anwar said that the police following tip off conducted the raid when the terrorists hiding in a house carried out attack on the police party with hand grenades.

He added that four terrorists, who belonged to banned organisations – Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and Lashkar-e-Jhangvi – were killed in retaliatory firing.

Two of the killed terrorists identified as former TTP commander Hakeemullah Mehsud’s gunman Nazar and Lashkar-e-Jhangvi’s Molvi Ishaq.

The police official said that the terrorists were involved in attack on Mehran Airbase, PNS and killing of security officials.

During the raid, the police officials recovered weapons and motorcycle.

The operation comes a day after when a police constable, Shakir, was gunned down in Karachi on his way to police station.

It is to mention here that TTP has claimed responsibility of the target killing, which is the first attack of this nature in New Year.
