40,000 Tonnes of imported wheat arrived Punjab amid flour crisis

Lahore–Punjab on Tuesday received 40,000 tonness of imported wheat from Ukraine to remove the shortfall.
The imported wheat cost the government nearly Rs1,970 per 40kg. Slowdown of wheat import was due to international price hike. Later this move flour prices were increased suddenly and unexpectedly which turn the situation into the unavailability of wheat in local markets.

Flour Mills Association mentioned about the change of recently imported wheat as it is slightly red in color. This color correction can be made by adding 40 percent of local wheat, GNN News reported

65,000 tonnes of wheat docked last Monday at Karachi Airport 

Second of the vessel which took 65,000 tonnes of wheat was unloaded last Saturday at Karachi port. Docked wheat was taken unloaded after certified quarantine procedure 

Later, 69,000 metric tonnes in third vessel was arrived on September 8 at Karachi Port.

Inspection team from the Department of Plant Protection, led by DPP Director-General Dr Falak Naz, conducted a detailed inspection of the imported wheat keeping in view the requirements of the import permit granted to the private sector.Earlier National Food Security and Research Secretary Omer Hamid Khan had contacted the Sindh and Punjab chief secretaries of to seek support in smooth inter-provincial movement of the imported wheat. 
Complete procedure of wheat import was absolute dynamic and MNFS&R did the surveillance  to curb any delay or haphazard 

All of the concerned departments were on the board to solve the national wheat crisis.
