LAHORE – Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif on Monday urged the interim federal and provincial governments to provide the facilities to convicted Nawaz Sharif, he is entitled to as three-time ex-prime minister, in Adiala Jail.
The former Punjab chief minister, who is currently under fire for failing to reach the Lahore airport upon arrival of his elder brother and niece, Maryam Nawaz, has sent a letter to caretaker Prime Minister Nasirul Mulk and Punjab CM Hassan Askari.
In the letter, Shehbaz wrote that Nawaz is a cardiac patient and provision of medicine and medical checkup should be ensured.
The move comes as former premier and his son Hussain Nawaz, who is absconder in the corruption references, complained about the lack of facilities and miserable condition of the room in the jail.
The elder Sharif stated that there were only a mattress and a fan in the room, he complained that there was no air-conditioning and the washroom was also not clean.
Hussain Nawaz in his tweet stated that he was told that his father was not given a bed to sleep on and the bathroom was extremely dirty probably not cleaned for ages.

Nawaz was arrested on Friday night from Lahore airport and was Shifted to Adiala jail along with his daughter Maryam Nawaz after they were found guilty in London’s Avenfield property case.
