PSX sheds 16 points to drop to 48,289 points at closing

KARACHI – The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on Thursday lost 16.17 points to reach 48289.66 points level at closing.

The stocks witnessed the highest trading level of 48341.17 points and lowest level of 47774.44 points, with the volume of over 180.60 million shares and value of Rs10.20 billion. As many as 367 companies took part in trading; of which 141 advanced, 207 declined and 19 remained unchanged.

With 28.53 million shares, K-Electric was top leader as it shed Rs 0.04 to finish at Rs 9.11. It was followed by BoP with 16.42 million shares, adding Rs 1.00 to end at Rs 15.71 and Sui North Gass with 7.76 million shares, adding Rs 1.81 to close at Rs 134.24.

The top three gainers were Unilever Foods with price per share of 6300 (200), Wyeth Pak Ltd with price per share of 2508.45 (119.45) and Philip Morris Pak share of 2357.03 (97.34).

The top three losers were Bata (Pak) with price per share of 4090 (-215), Hinopak Motor with price per share of 1532.24 (-77.76) and Sanofi-Aventis per share of 2000.15 (-66.27).
