KARACHI - Bahria Town Karachi opened DanZoo, Pakistan’s first zoo with international standards, to public in a scintillating opening ceremony on Tuesday.

Admiral Hayat, COO Bahria Town Karachi was the chief guest of the ceremony, which was attended by noted personalities from the world of business, showbiz, sports and media, alongside top management of Bahria Town Karachi.

The proceedings began with recitation of the Holy Quran. After this, the gathering was given a detailed presentation on the project.

After performing the honor of ribbon-cutting, Admiral Hayat COO Bahria Town in his address said, ‘DanZoo is a new addition to Karachi’s tourist attractions. Bahria Town stays committed to redefining community lifestyle and concept of healthy entertainment in Pakistan.’

Special arrangements were made at DanZoo by Bahria Town Karachi management for making this ceremony a memorable event for all times to come.

The opening of Pakistan’s first day and night zoo in the city will give the residents of Bahria Town and Karachiites a chance to enjoy even more the beautiful windy evenings of the coastal city.



DanZoo is home to a range of exotic and indigenous breeds of animals and birds from ferocious carnivores African lion, White lion, Bengal tiger, Leopard, Puma, Asiatic black bears; amazing antelopes including Red deer, Chital deer, Fallow deer, Blackbucks, Hog deer, Urial, Llama; crocodiles; ostriches, rhea, emu and an exotic range of ducks, geese and swans.

The aviary is a stellar feature of DanZoo with a complete range of birds including peacocks, parrots, macaws, sparrows, doves, nightingales etc.

Sprawling over 70 acres of land, DanZoo has spacious enclosures that have been aesthetically branded with names for zones, and details of the occupant. ‘Wild on Wheels’, Tour de DanZoo, is the golf cart ride available to the visitors for a tour around the zoo. Pakistani rupee recovers against US dollar, Euro, Pound, Dirham and Riyal; check forex rates

Pakistani rupee continues recovering losses against US dollar and other currencies amid positive economic cues.

Dollar Rate in Pakistan Today

On Tuesday, the US dollar moved down and was being quoted at 283.6 for buying and 286.65 for selling.

Euro slides down to 309 for buying and 312 for selling. British Pound rate inches up to 360 for buying, and 363.5 for selling.

UAE Dirham AED dropped to 77.50 whereas the Saudi Riyal rate stands at 75.90.

On Tuesday, the price of a single tola of 24-karat gold stands at Rs218,500 and 10 grams of 24k gold costs Rs187,330. 

Single tola of 24 karat is Rs218,500, 22 Karat Gold costs Rs200,290, rate of 21 karat gold stands at Rs191,190 whereas 18k gold rate is Rs163,875.00 for each tola.

In the global market, gold saw huge drop in price, coming down to $2037 per ounce after drop of $81.79.
