Police detains MQM's Khawaja Izhar Ul Hassan

KARACHI (Web Desk) - The Police have formally detained leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Khawaja Izhar Ul Hassan here on Friday.

According to the details, SSP Malir Rao Anwar reached the residence of MQM leader and detained him. Police officials took Izhar in a police armoured vehicle after handcuffing him. MQM workers chanted slogans as Khawaja was being detained.

Earlier, the residence of law maker was raided by CTD officials under the supervision of Rao Anwar. SHO (Station House Officer) Sohrab Goth was also suspended for raiding the residence of legislator.

MQM Pakistan head Farooq Sattar felt displeased over the detention and expressed that the arrest was made without producing any warrants. He denounced the decision to apprehend Izhar without following legal procedures.

He urged top civil-military leadership to take notice of the unlaw ful arrest and maintained that MQM Pakistan was being targeted. He alleged that Rao Anwar was a confidant of former President Asif Ali Zardari.
