Transgender stopped from celebrating birthday in KPK sends video message to Imran Khan, goes viral

LAHORE (Staff Report) –  While on one hand Supreme Court (SC) has ruled in favor rights equal for transgendersm on the other hand KP police has stopped a transgender from celebrating her own birthday despite getting an NoC from authorities.

In a 2:45 minute Facebook video message, the victim, Paro complained to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman and asked, Mr. Khan is this the “Naya Pakistan” you promised? “Where is your Naya Pakistan, should we get No Objection Certificate (NOC) from chief minister to celebrate birthdays?, where are my rights,” She questioned, highlighting the bizarre rule that trans-gendered people have to get NoC certificates to celebrate their birthdays.

The video has gone viral and 75,000 people have viewed it so far, with many accusing KP government of failure to provide equal rights to the people. One commenter said, “This is so sad. shame on people who don’t consider them humans with all the same emotions that we have. A very happy birthday to her”.

“I have always entertained people and made them happy but in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa i have no right to be happy” Says Paro. Mr.Khan is this the “Naya Pakistan” you promised? Do Transgenders needs NOC from Chief Minister to celebrate Birthdays? Where Are My Rights??????. Please help paro to reach this post to Imran Khan by resharing #EndTransphobia”
