Doctor arrested for blackmailing girl in Lahore

LAHORE – Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has rounded up a man for allegedly blackmailing a girl by uploading her pictures on social media.

The cyber crime wing of the investigation agency received a complaint against the accused, stating that a doctor named Dr Kaleemul Hassan was blackmailing one of his patients by uploading her personal pictures on Whatsapp and other social media sites, local media reported.

Following the complaint, a team of the FIA conducted raid in Gulberg, area of Lahore,  and arrested the doctor. The FIA also seized the mobile phone of the accused.

The cell phone has been sent to a laboratory for forensic examination, while further investigation is underway.

Last year, the FIA’s cyber crime branch has apprehended a man who was allegedly blackmailing a girl with an objectionable video.

According to FIA, the suspect, identified as Saqatur Rehman, allegedly raped the girl. The suspect had published an ad on a website for a female receptionist at a hotel, Geo News reported.

He raped her when she went to give an interview and filmed the whole incident.

The cyber crime cell has registered a case against the victim and launched an investigation.
