ASF staves off bid to smuggle Saudi Riyal at Islamabad airport

ISLAMABAD – The Airport Security Force (ASF) foiled a bid to smuggle foreign currency, arresting a suspect at Islamabad International Airport on Wednesday.

The ASF sources said that during the search of baggage of a passenger identified as Abdul Wakeel through Pakistan International Airline (PIA) flight PK-233, one lac (100,000) Saudi Riyals were recovered which equal 35,43963 in Pakistani currency.

The ASF arrested the accused, who was heading to Dubai, and confiscated the foreign currency. The detained Abdul Wakeel was later handed over to Customs officials for further probe into the matter.
