ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Imran Khan telephoned Saudi Crown Prince and Defence Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz and condemned drone attacks on Saudi oil installations.
The premier also discussed bilateral and regional matters with special focus on drone attacks at Saudi Oil installations.
During the telephone conversation, Imran Khan expressed Pakistan’s support for the Kingdom and its full stand with all its potentials in confronting these sabotage acts which threaten the global economy and the Kingdom’s security.
The drone attack caused massive fires at two Saudi Aramco’s oil facilities overnight into Saturday. The fires, in particular, hit the Abqaiq oil refinery in Eastern Province, and an oil-processing facility near Khurais oil field, located about 100 miles east of Riyadh.
The Yemeni Houthi rebel movement claimed responsibility for the attacks.
Earlier, US President Donald Trump condemned drone attacks at two Saudi Aramco oil facilities that reportedly disrupted production and marked a new escalation in regional tensions with Iran.

“The United States strongly condemns today’s attack on critical energy infrastructure. Violent actions against civilian areas and infrastructure vital to the global economy only deepen conflict and mistrust,” the White House said in a statement following a phone call between Trump and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
Trump offered Prince Mohammed “his support for Saudi Arabia’s self-defence,” the White House said, following an earlier statement from Riyadh saying the crown prince told Trump the kingdom was “willing and able” to respond to the attacks blamed on Yemeni rebels.
