LAHORE (Web Desk) –The Lahore High Court Friday upheld ban on broadcast of speeches and display of pictures of MQM chief Altaf Hussain till October 2.
A full-bench of the LHC headed by Justice Mazhar Ali Akbar Naqvi heard the plea.
Altaf’s counsel Asma Jahangir requested the court to reconsider its decision regarding the ban.
MQM Coordination Committee’s member Dr Farooq Sattar pleaded that Hussain had apologized for whatever it was in his speeches that offended the nation and institutions.
The court said that everyone is equal in eyes of the law. The bench further said that the court could revisit its decision if MQM leader’s written statement is presented.
