RAWALPINDI – The Mari Petroleum Company Limited (MPCL) has announced an oil discovery near Gujar Khan in Rawalpindi District, the Radio Pakistan reported on Friday.
According to the company’s spokesperson, it is the second consecutive discovery in Ghauri Block that is expected to provide 372 barrels of crude oil on a daily basis.

The spokesperson said that the new discovery will help cope with the energy crisis in the country.
