Imran Khan and his new wife s honeymoon destinations revealed

LAHORE – Whether it’s about romantic breaks, weekends away or honeymoon, England has always been among the top destinations for newlyweds, attracting them with its worth-seeing castles and calm beaches.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan, 66, tied the knot with his spiritual healer Bushra Maneka, the PTI confirmed on its official Twitter handle Sunday night.

Soon after the PTI chief made a hat-trick of marriages, conflicting reports emerged about the couple’s honeymoon plans.

One report suggests the couple are expected to perform Umrah. While another says the PTI chief and his new wife will likely spend a week in London. The couple will also spend a few days in Scotland, the Geo News reported.

The couple are expected to soon jet off to London where Khan’s close friend Zulfi Bukhari will arrange a Walima ceremony, the report added.

On the other hand, another private TV channel quoted PTI’s Fawad Chaudhary as saying that the reception of Imran Khan’s third marriage will be held at Bani Gala, Islamabad.

However, the PTI has denied such reports, refraining to mention the PTI chief’s post-marriage plans.

The party said the Nikkah was solemnised by Mufti Saeed in Lahore on Sunday.

The party released pictures of Imran’s marriage with Bushra Maneka, in which close relatives of the bride are seen.

Saeed was also the Nikkah Khawan when Imran publicly entered into marriage with Reham Khan on January 8, 2015.

The political secretary of the PTI chief, Awn Chaudry also attended the ceremony. Earlier, he had denied and also dismissed the notion that the Nikkah took place. Awn was also a witness in Khan’s previous marriage to Reham Khan.

Mrs Khan was previously married to a government servant with whom she separated a few months ago.

PTI spokesperson Fawad Chaudhary confirmed the development, saying that the ceremony was held at Maneka’s residence.

Only close relatives participated in the ceremony and Mufti Saeed performed the Nikkah in the presence of witnesses. The ceremony was kept low-profile as per the desire of Imran Khan, he added.

Bushra Maneka, in her 40s, belongs to the Wattoo clan, of which the Manekas are a sub-clan. Earlier, she was married to Khawar Farid Maneka, a senior customs official in Islamabad but parted ways in recent times.

The PTI chief was married twice before. His first marriage was with Jemima Goldsmith, daughter of a British billionaire in 1995. The couple divorced in 2004.

Khan’s second marriage to Reham Khan dissolved 10 months after a public ceremony had taken place in January 2015.
