ISLAMABAD – Asad Umar on Tuesday took oath as Minister for Planning and Special Initiatives after a recent reshuffle in the Federal Cabinet.
According to details, President Arif Alvi administered the oath ceremony.
Asad Umar has been brought back in the Federal Cabinet as minister for planning, development and reforms.
Asad Umar, who was removed as finance minister, was without any portfolio for the last seven months.
Earlier on Monday, Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan announced that Asad Umar is to be inducted in the Federal cabinet as the Minister for Planning and Special Initiatives while Khusro Bakhtiar will be assigned the portfolio of Minister for Petroleum.
