Complete shutdown being observed in Occupied Kashmir today

SRINAGAR – A complete shutdown is being observed on Wednesday, to protest against the killing of Jamaat-e-Islami activist and principal of a private school in Indian Occupied Kashmir.

The 28-year-old, Rizwan Asad was arrested by the sleuths of Indian National Investigation Agency (NIA) from Pulwama district three days ago and was killed at the infamous Indian torture centre, Cargo camp, run by the Special Operations Group.

The custodial killing triggered forceful anti-India protests in different areas of the territory including Pulwama and Srinagar districts.

Students of Kashmir University in Srinagar also held forceful demonstrations against the custodial death of the school principal and the summoning of Mirwaiz Umar Farooq by Indian agency, NIA. Several people were injured when troops fired bullets, pellets and teargas shells on the mourners in the area.

The call for today’s the shutdown was given by the Joint Resistance Leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik.
