LAHORE – National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Sunday decided to file another reference against former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for non-cooperation.
According to media reports, the anti-graft watchdog issued two notices to Nawaz regarding the misuse of funds and authority, but he did not attend the hearing.

Pakistan’s anti-corruption watchdog summoned former prime minister Nawaz Sharif on May 20 in a case pertaining to misuse of public funds for the construction of Jati Umra road in Raiwind.
Earlier, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had approved the corruption reference against Nawaz and Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif for misuse of public funds amounting to Rs126 million spent on the construction of the two-lane road from Raiwind to their family residence, in December 2017.
The reference for the non-cooperation will be filed this month.
Nawaz was facing supplementary references pertain to Azizia Steel Mills and Hill Metals Establishment, the Sharifs’ London (Avenfield) properties, and over a dozen offshore companies, including Flagship Investment Ltd, filed by NAB.
The references were filed on the orders of Supreme Court in the Panama case verdict of July 27, 2017.
