Gold prices in Pakistan continued their strong upward movement, with the 24-karat gold rate reaching Rs482,936 per tola amid massive demand. The latest jump has pushed gold close to the Rs483,000-per-tola level, extending powerful rally in August 2026.

Why Are Gold Prices Rising?
The latest increase in Pakistan is closely linked to movements in the international bullion market.
Global gold prices increased by $57, reaching $4,604 per ounce, with a reported $20 premium. International gold prices are an important factor in determining domestic bullion rates. When global prices rise significantly, local gold prices generally come under similar upward pressure.
The latest international rally has therefore contributed to another increase in Pakistan’s gold market.

Silver Price in Pakistan

This means the latest movement in the precious-metals market was primarily driven by gold rather than silver.
Gold Price Trends in Pakistan
Gold has delivered a significant gain during August. Up to around August 23, 2026, 24K gold has increased by approximately Rs52,000 to Rs56,000 per tola compared with levels seen at the beginning of the month.
That represents an estimated 12% to 13% monthly increase. At the beginning of August, 24K gold was trading at approximately Rs426,700 to Rs428,600 per tola. By August 22-23, it had climbed to approximately Rs481,500 to Rs482,936.
For consumers purchasing jewellery or physical gold, the latest surge means that buying costs are significantly higher than they were at the beginning of August. A person purchasing one tola of 24K gold would now face a market rate of around Rs482,936, compared with roughly Rs427,000-Rs429,000 at the beginning of the month.
The final amount paid for jewellery can be higher than the quoted gold rate because jewellery prices may also include making charges and other applicable costs.
With gold already up by roughly 12% to 13% during August, buyers and investors are closely watching international prices because further changes in global bullion rates could continue to influence the Pakistani market.
