E-Books reading trend getting popular in Pakisatn

ISLAMABAD (APP) – E-Books reading trend is gaining popularity in the federal capital due to availability of books on websites and Internet.

Certain organization like National Book Foundation (NBF) and Pakistan Academy of Letters are working for the promotion of book reading in the country.

Talking to APP, an official of NBF said that the Foundation owing to the new trend of Internet and technology, has introduced E-Book scheme for the general public and book-lovers.

However, he said still a number of people buy books and read regularly, adding that NBF has initiated a number of projects for promoting book-reading in the country.

A book reader, Muhammad Aziz said that the soaring prices of new books, has somehow forced people to use E-books instead of buying books.

However, the Book sellers put the blame of high prices of books on bulk sellers and increase in transportation costs in the market.

Naqibullah, a lecturer in private collage said” rising costs have made it impossible for a common man to buy books new books”. “I am a regular visitor of old book shops as the books are really beneficial for us”. Mir Ali, a student, said it is still better to buy old books these days though these are sold at a bit high rate.
